Hohenzollernbrücke und die Köln Dom

Hohenzollern Bridge is one of the most iconic symbols of Cologne (Köln). You can see the Kölner Dom, which is also known as Cologne Cathedral if you are an anti-cultural philistine, in the background, the bridge is a straight pathway to it, the train tracks deviate only after reaching land. It has no roads just a walkway besides the tracks. It's a very beautiful structure and it's only shadowed as importance by the mighty Dom which has it's back turned to it.

Picture of the day: Eagle trough crowd

I took this picture at the Photokina 2008 event. They had a demonstration with eagles flying from one podium to the next. It's a panning shot, pretty difficult considering it was taken with a telephoto from the crowd, and yeah.. the subject was flying! The Canon 70-200 is an excellent lens considering the Canon EOS 5D has a mediocre AF speed - the 5D mark II isn't an improvement though - this is my main problem with the successor of the 5D which i crave anyway. I took very nice shots with the lens, including sports (soccer, from the outskirts of the field) - though i would really recommend a smaller sensor or a longer lens.
